Re: Should ID be censored?
ID is not scientific, and weakening K-12 science education is likely to have long-term deleterious effects on the economic competitveness and military technology and strength of the US. The latter especially needs to be pointed out to Republicans who regard themselves as "pro-military".
I'm about as pro-military as they come. I believe your statement is completely false. How exactly is it going to have long-term deleterious effects on economic competitveness and technology?

Re: Should ID be censored?
And that's where we differ. I believe evolution is bad science. It is the most widely excepted theory based on the least amount of evidence (none). Fish magically turning into birds is pretty superstitious IMO.

I have many times. If I read something new or have something worthwhile to add, I will.

Re: Should ID be censored?
How would you propose we teach it in schools? I think it would be a very quick lesson plan (Godditit) followed by a very short exam (Answer = Goddidit).
That's better than (dirtdidit) followed by a very short exam (Answer = dirtdidit).
I'll give you a serious reply when I get home tonight.

Re: More unsupported science bashing
So you would rather me start new topics in there that have already been covered? My views have been covered by others in most cases, and I have nothing constructive to add to them. I do read them regularly. I would think you would give me kudos for not repeating what has alredy been said instead of being an ass.
Again, if I have anything to add, I will.

I want you to either back or retract that statement. It seems to me you like many a creationist want to hang out in the coffee shop where you cannot get called on this line of crap.
so it's really simple if you honestly believe that and think you can support it - get over to the science forums and do so. A lack of response speaks for itself.
so BACK or RETRACT.
I will, but not at your convenience.

Fossils of any kind are rare because fossilation itself is a relatively rare event.

Re: On a lighter note...Dean says No to ID
Evolution is a religion as a well. One that believes a dog can produce a non-dog (despite zero evidence) and that a dog came from a rock 4.6 billion years agao (despite zero evidence).
No science there.
BTW, please keep backing Howard Dean. Us conservatives love him.

Well it's a good thing that that's not what evolution say then isn't it?
That is EXACTLY what evolution says.

Either show us, Tal, where the ToE makes this claim or retract this statement.
And Arach says I backpedal. Wow.
Evolution - Wikipedia
The common definition of the word in popular science includes the emergence of new species as a product of evolution as well...
A group of organisms is said to have common descent if they have a common ancestor. In biology, the theory of universal common descent proposes that all organisms on Earth are descended from a common ancestor or ancestral gene pool.
In addition, abiogenesis the generation of life from non-living matter has never been observed, indicating that the origin of life from non-life is either extremely rare or only happens under conditions very unlike those of modern Earth.
Since abiogenesis is rare or impossible under modern conditions and the evolutionary process is exceedingly slow, the diversity and complexity of modern life requires that the Earth be very old, on the order of billions of years. This is compatible with geological evidence that the Earth is approximately 4.6 billion years old.

He made a similar statement last week but it was some rubbish about People evoling from frogs or some such nonsense.
Because that is what you think happened. 4.6 billion years ago, life magically began by some mysterious atmospheric burp and that life somehow evolved into Charles Knight.
Are you backpedaling too?

After all we don't want our guys in fox holes saying "God help me please"
Naw, we simply say, "Let's help this devout follower of Islam get his 72 virgins a little faster."

Wow. Love of Christ in action.
Yes, and that action is what has made and kept you free.

Re: Should ID be censored?
Ok, I don't want to upset adminjar.
Bullshit. If you think you would be quicker to jump to defend this nation than I just because you volunteered to go out into the desert and kill dark people under the guise of democracy (or was that WMDs or was that and evil dictator...I forget) then you are sorely mistaken.
Ignorance at its finest.
You don't even know me so don't pretend to claim you know what keeps me free. You are not automatically more American because you wear fatigues, carry a gun, and have the word "Private" as a prefix.
I know extactly what keeps you free, but I never claimed to be more American for any reason. And sorry, I have the word "Sergeant" as a prefix.
