This no more than a question, because I really don't know for sure. After watching CSI last night where they had a body that had been in the water for several days - it appears that a carcass fills up with gases relatively quickly and then can explode quite easily. Would that not have speeded up the "breaking down" process? Plus from the little reading I've done on this subject wouldn't a lot of carcasses (assuming that the flood took place the way that the bible says it does) have been buried in layers of rock, sand, etc.?
