How to Americanize Soccer?

First thing would be to reduce the skill set to running, catching and body checking any one with the ball (and make sure players only need one of these skills).Oh, wait. That's American football....

The problem with that is that the goalies would punt the ball right into the box every time.Just look at the long punt goalie caused goal England let in against Germany; and that was on a 'normal' sized pitch.That every goal kick. But who would want to watch a game that is all about people chasing a bouncing ball and making virtually unstoppable breaks to score every minute or so.Oh wait, that's basket ball....

Now, if you could make body checks in basket ball; now that would be fun to watch!
