I don't know where this goes, but I thought you might be interested in this... $150M investment in theme park featuring Noahs ark in life size replication as well as a complete biblical theme park. Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Added the "(AIG trying to build full sized ark)" to the topic title.

1) Are they going to be able to raise the money? I doubt it. 2) Isn't there a better Christian thing to spend the money on? I think so. 3) Assuming they do try to build it, are they going to find that it is not structurally feasible? I'd bet the ark will collapse into rubble long before complete. Of course, before such happens, OSHA will probably shut the thing down in the name of worker safety. Moose

Is it seaworthy? How many species of animal do they estimate it would be able to support for a year? -Meldinoor

2) How much trouble will animal welfare people cause when they find out all the animals will be kept inside (including the giraffes)?

I believe that the Walt Disney corporation has spent more money than that on building Disneyland. I am not certain that this has any bearing on the question of the existence of Mickey Mouse.

I would have put it in the humor column personally, except that it's so profoundly sad that money's being wasted on this pile of excrement while at the same time spreading ignorance. But other than that it's hysterical. Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. -- Thomas Jefferson We see monsters where science shows us windmills. -- Phat It has always struck me as odd that fundies devote so much time and effort into trying to find a naturalistic explanation for their mythical flood, while looking for magical explanations for things that actually happened. -- Dr. Adequate ...creationists have a great way to detect fraud and it doesn't take 8 or 40 years or even a scientific degree to spot the fraud--'if it disagrees with the bible then it is wrong'.... -- archaeologist

Authentic thehonogly from the bronze age or new age steel? If they use wood it will colapse before it will be built, unless they cut some cornerrs and use "guled beams" "new" age technology where you glue boards together to make a beam of any with and lenght you like stronger and more fleksible than a simple cut beam. And i hope they do not use sawed beams also relativly new age 1800 And they should use boards that where split not sawed also an old age method few know how to do now days the split boards are stronger then the sawed ones because they split with the grain, in sawed boards the grain gets cut decreasing its strainght. The gratest problem will be the "backbone" of the ship usualy wooden ships used a bent beam that ran along the bottom of the whole ship this will be impossible here do to the lenght, and if the place they joint 2 beams together isent secured and it gives way the whole ship will colapse. And if they do manage to build it they should have an experiment of how many animals they could fit inside, how much time would it take to care for them, and most importantly how much time would it take to showel a days worth of Sh%$ trough that one window. Edited by frako, : No reason given.

I don't see much difference between this and the Magic Kingdom, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Discovery Expeditions, Universal Studios or even Knotts Berry Farm. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

I do. Surely there is a difference between make-believe and make-believe masquerading as The TruthTM. Engaging a child's sense of fantasy and imagination is one thing. Lying to them is quite another. Personally, I'm eager to see them build this thing. But I only wish they would try making it float. What an amusing disaster that would be.

I would insist on a few things (some already mentioned): 1. Build it according to the tech of Noah's time. With the same materials or reasonable substitutes. With the same joining techniques and the same kinds of fasteners of Noah's time. I would not go so far as to insist on the same kinds of tools, just so long as the final product is the same. 2. Float it! Don't just create a dry-land mock-up, but make it float. 3. Man it and stock it as per the Bible. Lock them in there for a year.

Not only float, but filled with all the species and enough food to last the total time listed in Genesis and 8 people (4 men and 4 women) taking care of it the same way they would have had to, with no conveniences of any kind. There is no better love between 2 people than mutual respect for each other WT Young, 2002 Who gave anyone the authority to call me an authority on anything. WT Young, 1969 Since Evolution is only ~90% correct it should be thrown out and replaced by Creation which has even a lower % of correctness. W T Young, 2008
