Laws? Trump don't need no stinking laws.

Sorry Faith, it does not matter when a law was passed or under what Administration. Trump has the power to stop the pogrom but instead he seems to be encouraging it.

Anything done under the Trump Administration is the responsibility of Trump. Yes, I know he loves to delegate guilt but unfortunately he is President and so it is his responsibility no matter how he tries to shift the blame.

Re: And today the kinder gentler ICE ...
Agencies don't stop acting under the previous administration's orders when a new administration comes into power, they continue as usual until they have new orders. I suspect this is just one of those typical attempts to pin something on Trump that has nothing to do with anything he's done. You have to do better than assign him the responsibility just because he's now the President. You have to show that the deportations are the result of his orders and not just business as usual or a step-up with another cause than Trump. You obviously don't know, you are just assuming.

Responsibility stops when the holder of the office changes. Sorry Faith but it really is that simple.

Re: And today the kinder gentler ICE ...
If previous orders are no longer in force and Trump has issued no new orders, ICE should be doing nothing at all.

You are assuming a lot, that's all. You want to complain about Trump but you can't show that he's ordered the deportations you are complaining about. You really don't know what's going on at all.

I'd like to know what Trump wants to do about illegal aliens in the country. I hope he will come out with a clear plan soon. The point is that so far I'm not aware of his laying out a plan or giving any orders about it or saying anything along such lines. If he has you ought to be able to show it to me.

Meanwhile it just sounds like you love complaining about Trump and that's all there is to this whole subject.

Utter nonsense Faith.

The responsibility is still Trumps. End of subject.

Agencies have issued new relevant orders under the Trump administration. I linked to and quoted two of them.

What's happening is due solely to Trump.

TRUMP HAS ISSUED NEW ORDERS AND THE AGENCIES HAVE ISSUED MEMOS ON HOW TO ENFORCE THOSE ORDERS.

ICE is doing what Trump, and NOT OBAMA, ordered them to do.

You are assuming a lot, that's all.

You are not only assuming that there are no new orders, you are ignoring multiple posts of those very orders.

You haven't apologized for your repeated ignorance of the state of things regarding the Trump administration and immigration policy.

And did you just argue that because you acknowledged a fact on another thread, that should have no bearing on your posts in this one? Things are only true on the thread that they are posted on? Trump is in charge of ICE in the other thread but Obama's still in charge here?

ICE makes the US safer yet again.
California father detained by ICE while dropping off kids at school.

ICE removing yet another Badass off the streets to make America Great Again was reported by SFGate.

This criminal was caught transporting kids in his car and safely removed to be deported. The thirteen year old in the car was able to take a video of the rescue from the 48 year old illegal alien who had been hiding in the US for over two decades and had a criminal record of a DUI only a decade ago and had even purchased a car with an improper registration merely two decades ago.

Today the streets of Los Angeles are a little bit safer.

quote:
Romulo Avelica-Gonzalez, a father in the Highland Park area of Los Angeles, was on his way to drop off one of his four daughters at school Tuesday when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers wearing police jackets pulled him over and detained him.

One of his daughters, 13-year-old Fatima Avelica, filmed the ordeal while sitting in the car with her mother.

"I was scared and sad at the same time," Fatima told CNN. "I never thought I would have to experience something like this in my life...on my way to school."

You're safe now Fatima.

Trumps kinder immigration policy gets improved.
According to a report from the Reuters News Service the Department of Homeland Security is planning an all new improved border control policy. Women caught crossing the border with children will be separated, the mother held in detention and the children placed in custody of the Department of Health & Human Services.

quote:
The Department of Homeland Security is considering a proposal to separate immigrant mothers and their children who are caught together crossing the US border illegally.

The proposal would be a stark change from current practice, which allows families that are fighting deportation to be released and remain together until their cases are resolved.

The proposed policy, first reported Friday by Reuters, would allow border officials to detain and hold parents in custody while their children are placed into the protective custody of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Thanks Trump, have you ever read the US Constitution?

And now it looks like travel bans extend to US Citizens.
This is really disgusting.

From tonight's Reuters' feed:

The father of a US Soldier who was criticized by then candidate Trump for being a Muslim who spoke out against the racism and bigotry of Trump but who is a US Citizen himself has been notified that his US travel privileges were under review.

He has not been told why or what agency is pulling such a stupid stunt.

quote:
The father of an American soldier killed in Iraq who came under criticism last year from then-candidate Donald Trump said he has canceled a speaking engagement in Toronto after being notified that his U.S. travel privileges were under review.

Khizr Khan, an American citizen born in Pakistan, said he had not been given a reason as to why his travel privileges were being reviewed. He did not say what kind of review he was subject to, which U.S. agency ordered it or who told him of the change.

"This turn of events is not just of deep concern to me but to all my fellow Americans who cherish our freedom to travel abroad," Khan said in a statement issued by the engagement organizer on Monday. "I am grateful for your support and look forward to visiting Toronto in the near future."

quote:
Khan and his wife, Ghazala Khan, appeared at the Democratic National Convention in support of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and shared the story of their son, U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan, who was killed during the Iraq war.

He also criticized Trump's proposal during the election campaign for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States.

During his speech, Khan asked Trump if he had ever read the U.S. Constitution and said that he would gladly lend him his copy. He urged Trump to "look for the words liberty and equal protection of law" in the document.

Trump responded by questioning whether Clinton's aides scripted Khan's speech and questioned whether Ghazala Khan was allowed to speak.

Just another example of the pettiness, racism, ignorance and just plain piss poor manners of Donald Trump.

Goodness gracious me. Is travelling a privilege now under Trump? I mean, US citizens have always had the right to leave the US if they wanted to. It's a right.

The issue is not so much leaving as whether you would be allowed back in.

Nope. It's the right of US citizens to leave and re-enter the US. That's not a privilege. It's a right. No US official can even try to deny entry into the US by any US citizen.
