From South Amercica to the Middle East and across Eurasia and China Flood accounts exist. The existence of these accounts can only be attributed to a Flood occurring.
All those places flood, though. And their flood accounts don't match each other in terms of time, etc.
Why is the only explanation One Big Flood? How can the One Big Flood have happened when so much evidence contradicts it?
Let's say that I poll 100 children in each of 100 locations around the country. Every one of those groups has at least one child that has heard of or been to the Chuck E. Cheese pizzeria (you know, with the video games and the animatronic show. I use this as an example of a cultural myth because my parents never took me, so the place has a bit of a legendary feel to it to me, even though there's one in the mall down the road from here.)
Is that evidence that all these kids used to live in the same town? Hardly. It's easily explained by the fact that there's a Chuck E. Cheese in most major cities.

We have over 200 accounts of a global flood from ancient civilizations ALL around the globe. Even the Toltecs have legends past down to them of a global flood. It's all over!
I addressed this argument earlier in this thread. I suggest you reply to that post.
We have IMMENSE worldwide evidence of a global flood!
Is there terrestrial life on Earth?
Then we know there was no global flood.

Sorry, post deleted. It's not really on-topic. I'm not going to respond to WT if he persists in going off-topic.

If this could be related the the jewish people's artistry maybe one could think that they without knowing had made something that was not their own in reality.
We're talking about stone art, though. Littering the ground amongst the debris of a civilization wiped out by your flood.
You're trying to argue that they saw all this art on the ground, copied it, and then forgot that they had seen it all over the ground?
If you think that's a serious rebuttal, you simply don't understand the argument.

No, not a rebuttal, rather a reasoning contrary to his.
That's what a rebuttal is, Prophex.
I said nothing consisting of them actually seeing the art.
So, just at random, they happened to forget everything they knew about Hebrew art and invent, again totally at random, a style of art exactly like stonework buried in the very ground they were standing in but hadn't seen?
That doesn't even strain credulity. It's a million light-years from being a tenable conjecture. If you think that's at all a reasonable explanation for what we're talking about, then again, you just don't understand what we're talking about.

Good description of those who assert worldwide flood accounts to be a local event in that civilizations history.
Why?
What would prevent someone from making up a myth about a global flood, especially if the threat of flooding was something that they had to live with every day?

This position assumes ancients to be lying or not meaning what they say.
No, rather, your position assumes that the ancients were perfectly truthful and never in error. This is clearly an idiotic thing to assume.

Rrhain, if you are so positive you've done more research than me in this area, I'd like to challenge you in an Ark debate.
Man I want to see that debate. It's gonna be like a train wreck.
Also I'd like to see this Ark that Lys keeps mentioning but never substantiating.

Oh, yeah. I saw this movie - only Harrison Ford and Karen Allen were spared because they kept their eyes closed. All the other Nazis had their faces melted off by the power of the Ark.
It was pretty cool. That's a great movie.

I really feel sorry for you, as you are so ignorant as to what is really going on.
Then by all means, educate me. Show me the evidence, though. What you've presented is a charming fantasy, nothing more. If you expect me to swallow it you need evidence. But hang on a sec - I need to find my tinfoil hat...

You want evidence for the Ark of the Covenant? or Noah's Ark?
Either. Both. Anything that substantiates your cockamamie conspiracy theories. Couldn't you have stuck to Dan Brown thrillers instead of wasting our time on this forum?
Like I said, I will not divulge on the AofC now. Perhaps in the future. The above was just a taste.
What a surprise.
For now and a while, it's Noah's Ark and the flood.
Waiting for the evidence there, too. I wonder where it will come from this time? Theonion.com? National Lampoon? Fox News? Is there any site you won't take seriously if it tells you what you want to hear?
