Funny thread.
To my mind, these negative comments illustrate a perversion of moral feeling created by this obsession with being politically correct
Well put.
I think it's perfectly ok, and normal to feel the way you do. I also agree with jar (not being critical here at all) in that you missed an opportunity to talk to those people. You, and them may have both benifited from the opportunity, or not. The important thing is to follow your heart, to me that's what God would be looking at.
I think maybe what is inspiring people here to be critical of your thinking, is that, just how bad did you feel about it, if you did not do anything about it? Plus you started a thread on it, so that leaves you open to critisim. Maybe you could have at least gone over to them and thanked them for paying a price for your freedom? You said your heart went out to them.

Re: Funny thread.
I don't think it is demeaning. Crap, I wouldn't want to loose a leg or something, and I would feel bad for myself, even though I would eventually get around it and go on with life.
It's just a normal reaction to something that you wouldn't want to happen to yourself, so you don't wish it on the next guy. What's the big freaggin deal?

The only difference between them and you is that they weren't half so arrogant.
What a little boy you still are.

Re: Listen up simpletons
On a board with supposed intellectuals I find it lacking. I wish to talk a spell. Some of the older folk may not enjoy what I will say because your minds have begun to degrade into a linear pattern.
Becareful on that pedestal, it gets more tippy the further up you go.
Why have I come back? I have decided you all are worth my time because I value human life (lucky you).
You should consider earning the right to give your advice first, instead of just finger pointing. Maybe your words will have more meaning then.
As long as each of us continue to submit ourselves to the society and its wars and its murder we are not free, and words cannot console the tragic casualties of war.
Only the truth can set you free. Wars will happen until the end.
What gives you the right to be rich, to be American?
Nothing, and everything. It's what we do with our riches that define who we are.
for we are not me, you, American, Iraqi, Muslim, Christian WE ARE BUT ONE.
I agree, we are a human race.
Do good to everyone for when you harm another you harm yourself. We are all here, we all exist, we each share the same experience, WE ARE ONE.
While I agree with this idea, it is a bit of a dream. Doing good to yourself is subjective. There are many people who do things to themselves, that I would not like to have done to me, yet it is considered good to them.
Unless you have some kind of absolute standard of what is good, then I suggest you re-think this.
I guess this is what I hope Heaven is about, a place where we can drop all this subjectiveness, and actually be good to one another. In the mean time, I will try to look at everyone the way God looks at them, and understand what they consider to be good.

While your dominatrix like attitude might make a tree grow in the woods of some forests, I'll keep that in mind the next time I get slapped down by the bitch.
