It's the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil, not wealth itself, although certainly wealth is a tremendous temptation. It is hard for the wealthy to be saved because they may put their trust in their money rather than in God.
On the other hand, as others have pointed out, wealth is a good thing to have for helping out those in need. And wealth is one of the ways God blesses the righteous. The Book of Proverbs gives precept after precept about how poverty comes from laziness and otherwise breaking God's laws, and wealth from dilgence and righteousness. So clearly, wealth in itself is not a bad thing. But it is a tremendous temptation to all kinds of self indulgence and sins, and some might be better off without it.

After reviewing the scripture...
I think it is, that would be hypocritical if Christ did. Like with me, if Christ didn't say it I don't believe it. I don't know if you're well off or not but I don't know. People do things, not money. And if money does than it's the society that is wrong.

That's only in certain cases.
Poverty is a direct result of society. Be sure you know that people live like merchants. Read Siddhartha by Herman Hesse. You'll see the pitfall.

It's wonderful watching you explore new discoveries. Keep reading, keep exploring, it's an amazing period.
Do you think you should put Jesus in such a small box? Remember, he was human. His dad was a carpenter. He loved a party, liked a good drink, probably enjoyed a dance and flirting with the girls. He may have owned houses but it's more likely that homes were owned by others and made available to him and his followers. But don't put him in a box of your making. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Hey jar,
If Christ is God why would he like that stuff?

His Father had a fairly big house in Jerusalem.
To take it a step further, as Jesus had this multi personality disorder, this actually means that Jesus had a house in Jerusalem since Jesus was His own father. Brian.

Great question and IMHO one that goes to the heart of the message of Jesus.
The sacrifice that GOD made was not Jesus death. Jesus death was but one incident of his life. The amazing thing, the wondrous thing, the unique thing is that during Jesus time here on earth he was human. Fully and completely human. Not GOD, but human. During those 30+ years Jesus was just like you. He went through childhood. He had to learn to walk. He had to learn how to go potty. He had to learn to talk, to run. He probably fought with other kids and he spent at least some time learning to be a carpenter. He got hungry. He got cold. He learned. He ate, deficated, slept, woke up, walked, and when he could, slept indoors. If Jesus had not been human, just like you and me, there would have been no sacrifice. Man cannot kill GOD. Many people mistake what the sacrifice was. The sacrifice is not Jesus dying, it was Jesus living. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Jar writes: So when He healed someone, it was not Jesus doing the healing, it was the Holy Spirit flowing through Him, right? The amazing thing, the wondrous thing, the unique thing is that during Jesus time here on earth he was human. Fully and completely human. Not GOD, but human.NIV writes:
Notice how He said that power had gone out from Him...surely it was the Holy Spirit flowing through Him, right? Luke 8:44-46-- She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
"Who touched me?" Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you." 46 But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me." A youth is a person who is going to carry on what you have started. He will assume control of your cities, states, and nations. He is going to take over your churches, schools, and corporations. You may adopt all the policies you please, but how they are carried out depends on him. So it might be well to pay him some attention. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *Convictions are very different from intentions. Convictions are something God gives us that we have to do. Intentions are things that we ought to do, but we never follow through with them.

More to the point, Chris... why would Jesus not like that stuff? He was quite happy to turn water into wine at a party...

Jesus always attributed the miracles to GOD, never claimed them for his own doing or glory. Jesus walked on water. So did Peter. When tempted or challenged, Jesus prayed to GOD for support. He did not step out and have angels bear him up. He did not slip into Divinity.
Jesus, during those 30+ years was human just like you and me. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Had the first miracle been turning Wine into Water it's unlikely we would be having this conversation even though the act would have been equally miraculous. LOL
