Shouldn't be too hard, especially if you've been there. "I think younger workers first of all, younger workers have been promised benefits the government promises that have been promised, benefits that we can't keep. That's just the way it is." George W. Bush, May 4, 2005 |

If I remember correctly, they started having an affair in between cups of Taster's Choice instant coffee. Didn't it later turn out that he was married? I think he was the one; he got a divorce and they moved to Paris. Then he caught her with another man and it turned out that he was her brother or something.
And wasn't it his son who came to visit them in Paris? I can't remember what happened after that. "We look forward to hearing your vision, so we can more better do our job. That's what I'm telling you."-George W. Bush, Gulfport, Miss., Sept. 20, 2005.

Well good for you! I vaugely remember the controversy, but I never took it all that seriously. IMO the Frito Bandito should have been no more offensive than Speedy Gonzales, but then maybe someone was offended by him too.

Faith writes me:
quote: Probably because it's so funny. Hitchcock always had comedy in his films but this was the only flat-out comedy I think he ever did, unless it was something silent. In a nutshell, Edmund Gwynn is out hunting when he stumbles across the body of the dead Harry lying in the most georgeous New England meadow at the height of autumn. Gwynn thinks he might have killed him and tries to get John Forsythe - the town bohemian if you can believe that - to help him hide the body, but before they can someone else discovers what they're up to. Shirley McLaine plays Harry's totally unconcerned widow, and she and most of the other residents of the town realize that they all had a reason to hate Harry and might conceivably be suspects, and before they know it they've all - well, maybe you want watch it again, you say? Here's another publicity shot featuring the youngest cast member, a pre-Beaver Jerry Mathers:
