You have it exactly backwards, Peg.
You need some pretty solid evidence that those two
may have been real people. You have a few documents that talk about them - the same sort of documentation that we have for Hector, Paris, or Odysseus. And I'll bet you don't assume that they were real folks that did all the things Homer claimed for them, do you?
