Who, on EVC, do you find interesting and would like to have a meal with and maybe a few drinks?
I'd like to smoke weed with Smooth Operator...in a Planetarium.
Honestly, a lot of the folks here are super cool. You Theodoric, Straggler, Rahvin, Stile, Catholic Scientist, RAZD, Cavediver, Perdition, Hyro, Kuresu, Dronester, Taz.... I've learned a lot from conversations with these people here and imagine that drinks would be fun as well.
Top 3, I guess would be Straggler, Rahvin and Catholic Scientist, together. That would be fun.
For a conversation in differences of opinion, definitely ICANT.
And, just to see this smart, arrogant douche, Rrhain. (I meant that in a good way)

Let me know whenever you get a gig in St. Louis and I'll come see you.
You remind me of a lot of my friends from college and I think we'd have a great time at a bar.
Will do, definitely.
I'm not getting the reference here.
I figured if I could get him high he'd see how the planets rotate around the Sun.
With some good hydro stuff I think I could get him to say "yea, man, ok, I see it now. Fuck, Einstein was right..."
His profile picture is him if you just want to see what he looks like.
No shit! lol. Fuck, he is Peter Pan

Yeah, please. You got a schedule or something?
I got my schedule on my myspace page. Oni Perez. Don't worry, I'll keep our EvC musings on the down low.
I just got picked up by Carnival Cruise Line so I'll be doing a lot of their shows. When I'm not on that, I try to do shows in Florida to stay close to my kids, but there's an Improv Comedy Club in Kansas that has been asking for me. Also, the FunnyBone is in St Louis and they're wanting me to come out there, too. I usually don't 'cause there ain't shit to do in those places when you don't know anyone, but I'll make a point to get out there.
I bet SO's a prick.
Prolly, but even a prick can be fun when their baked.
And that puffy-shirt pic made me lmao. "But I don't wanna be a pirate!" great episode.

Re: cheers . . .
Thanks Oni, right back at ya. I think you, Jazzns, Theodoric and I share a humanitarian POV that is sometimes lacking on the forum.
Thanks as well.
Would be cool to meet you over a beer, I'll check out your schedule to see if you ever tour Buffalo, NY. Though, it would probably be more fun if we ditch the Chomsky stuff in favor of girls, travel, and laugh-laugh topics.
I was just in the city (NYC), don't know how far that is from Buffalo, but I'm there enough to hang out one day.
And yea, the Chomsky stuff will only come up if we don't score and just drink. Once that happens, my anarchial attitude finds it's way out. LOL

To me, this is such a complicated question, because the first thing that came to my mind were all the people I'd like to have a drink with just to have the opportunity to physically inflict damage on their physical forms for all the stupidity I've seen over the years. But then I tried to interpret the question in a way that a "normal" person would interpret it and I guess I came up with Percy being someone I'd like to sit down and have a drink with to discuss some things in addition to sucking up to him.
You're not this analytical in person, right? Christ!

Oni: because I'd like to try to out toke him (and I would, I did whitey for no man). And I guess you can't go wrong with a stand up- you cheat.
I'm not going to pretend that I've smoked the quality ganja you guys get in Europe, what with Amsterdam an all, and I don't live in Cali to get the high quality shit. But I'm up for the challenge, Larni.
For the occation, I'll make a Boba Fett smoking mask.

Re: Straggler vs Mod - Coffeehouse showdown
This is pretty cool indeed, Straggler.
Hopefully more members can meet too, seeing as how this is the new way the world is connecting and sharing ideas. No need to be secluded entities in front of a laptop, people were meant to communicate face-to-face. And while oceans, states and cities divides us, it's cool to see you and Mod make the effort to get past those obstacles. Hope you guys had good times.
For the record "The Mod" was everything those at EvC would expect him to be!!
Handsome and well hung? Oooops...I mean, intelligent and well spoken?

Re: Straggler vs Mod - Coffeehouse showdown
Dude, I'm fuck'n hammered right now...having just done a show and drank Grey Goose all night.
Jeez you have high expectations! But let's just say that you won't be dissappointed. Nuff said.
Im sure Mod appreciates the attention...
Radical concept. You'll be advocating family dinners and physical contact next. Is there no end to your unique brand of madness?
NO! There's no end, and if there was I would be out of a job, Straggler.
There is no stopping this EvC momentum!
Yep it was definitely very cool if mildly surreal.
I should tell you that I am more than a little inebriated at the moment. Buurp.
I love it when we post drunken messages...I feel like everyone is kinda "real" at that point. I feel stupid a lot of times on this site most of the time and to know we're just a bunch of drunks behind a laptop makes me feel good.

Re: Straggler vs Mod - Coffeehouse showdown
Howza head today?
Not bad, how's yours?
The other comic woke me up to go the gym at around 9am today (I drank till about 3am).
I went to the gym, worked out a bit, threw up a bit, hit the sauna, threw up some more... Show time is at 7:30pm which is in about an hour and a half, and my glass is half full once again with the funny juice. Stay tune for more late night inebriated posting.
Hopefully my brain won't tell me to insult Taz this time. Don't know what happened there.
May the madness continue. If you don't look me up when you cross the pond I will hunt you down and turn your toes into shoelaces.
Understood! When I do though, tell the wifey it's gonna be an all nighter (drink'n and what not) with a guy you met on an internet forum... she'll understand.

Re: Straggler vs Mod - Coffeehouse showdown
We get free beer on Friday at work (Aussie company - Aussie rules)
Are you fuck'n serious? Sorry, (drunk and smoked) again tonight... They give you FREE beer on Friday? Do you know what they do in America on Friday? They let you wear a Hawaiian shirt to work... Really, who gives a shit about a Hawaiian shirt?
That is impressivley dedicated. I have not done that sort of hardcore shit since I was marathon training years ago now.
I'm single right now so I have no choice. Once I get a steady lady friend I'll pull back a bit and gain a little weight back.
Will we ever learn?
I hope not...when I think about it, what's there to learn? I like it like this good sir.
Hah! Yeah riiiiight! You obviously know latino women! Passionate, fiery and completely reasonable and understanding regarding drinking with "strangers". I'll sort something out though don't you worry.
LOL - Hey, whatever you can do, Straggler. I know the plight of the married man and I sympathize. Especially with those latinas!

Re: Straggler vs Mod - Coffeehouse showdown
Yeah. And wine. And alcopops for those so inclined. Around St Paddy's the Guinness was flowing. During Wimbledon Pimms was available. Around Burns night scotch was on the menu. You get the idea. But beer o'clock basically revolves around the crates of the cold fizzy stuff that you and our Ozzie cousins are so fond of. But there is some decent variation to keep the more fickle/adventurous happy. Usually enough of everything to get all those so inclined reasonably tanked. Friday afternoons can often be a pub induced right-off and then the free beer flows officially. It must be an Aus/Brit thing.
Sounds like a lot of fun to work for an Aussie company then. I've drank with a few Aussies before. While I prefer vodka (carbs/calories) and I'm not really a heavy beer drinker (scotch if vodka isn't available), I respect their ability to throw back HUGE cans of Fosters. Scary actually, to see a little Aussie with a can almost his size not slow him down a bit. I imagine your resistance is much the same?
I would rather microwave my own eyeballs than wear a Hawain shirt.
Oh com'on Straggler, a Brit like yourself in Brazil without a hawaiian Shirt? How else did you expect to get mugged? LOL
If the grass is always greener on the other side why are single men not constantly mowing the lawn?
That's because it's NOT greener on any side. If you meet too many women, it gets boring and the conversations get dull. Then you want somebody to be with on a steady basis. When you get that, it too eventually gets boring and the conversations get dull. Till you meet the right one who you never get bored with. (Then you fuck that up on a road gig with a waitress who passes out, spends the night in your room, and answers your fuck'n phone in the morning!)
Like a friend of mine says: Being single is a balance between euphoria and lonelyness. Lonelyness right before you go to sleep, and euphoria the rest of the time.

Ouch. I bet that whole situation left a mark.
It's been a year and a half and it's still a mark I can't shake off. Regret is a motherfucker to deal with. When the right one gets away from you for stupid reasons, oh man does it burn deep.

Well I will try to learn form your example and keep it in my pants.
Sadly though, nothing came out of my pants. She passed out from drinking and answered my phone thinking it was hers. But try explaining that - especially to a latin woman (take note Straggler).
I would hate to do something stupid and lose the woman that is willing to put up with me.
Yep...it's not fun at all.

Re: Ouch!
But like everyone I want to be a rockstar (or "rockstar" comedian!!!!!! - You are livin the dream Oni) really.
I think I'd rather be a musician too, but we don't get to pick the art, the art usually picks us - at least that's been my experience.
It was always my dream to be a comic, but honestly, I've never done something so emotionally draining in my life. Failure in this business is heart breaking. It's such a shitty feeling to have people judge your creative work who've never so much as written a joke, let alone perform, in their lives. I don't like contests, I don't like being judged, but there is no way around it to advance to the mainstream level unless I go that route. The underground circuits are gone. I would like for it to be less about the business and more about the art. But money changes everything.
Any sentance that contains both the words "respect" and "Fosters" is just sooooo wrong in my book.
- Sorry, I'm American. What's your brew of choice?
At the moment my resistance is tellingly and unhealthily high. Yes I could probably even drink with Australians without flinching (in fact I do regularly). But it varies. When I hit the health kick, hit the gym and actually sort myself out as I do every so often my tolerance dramatically and very noticeably drops. But at 37 it is gettin harder and harder to do.
I don't know, my resistance is OK for an American I guess. I do better with straight liquor, vodka is my drink of choice. I can take a bottle down in 4 or 5 hours and still be well (if I ate before drinking). I can't do that with beer though, however I do try to keep up if I'm drinking with guys from your side of the pond. It's like I feel I'm representing my country in a alcoholics contest of some sort. LOL

Well, when I unleash my vast army of killer robots you'll all be sorry. Though probably not for very long
You see, I knew this was your agenda the whole time I've been on this site! I tried to warn others but I was dismissed as a conspiracy theorist.
Lets get drunk and watch those robots fight each other, and take bets on who wins. Are we talking iRobot robots? Or that pussy looking Honda robot that can go up stairs?
