I presume you're thinking the admin mode. I think I have tended to prefer the "smack 'em with a 2x4" method.

I have vague recollections of occasionally inserting what I deem to be subtle humor into my (non-admin and/or admin mode) messages. I always wonder if anyone notices - I don't recall ever seeing any comments about such.
​
I certainly would be interested in seeing a quote and/or link of/to what you find to be funny.
