Headcase, in message 1:

Why could God not have created a Universe with 15 billion years of "Evolution" in only 6 days?

So god created a universe in 6 days but made it appear that it really took 14 billion year and that it could have occured naturally? Why did he try to trick us? Does he want us to doubt his existence?
OK, I propose that the story is, that God created the universe via evolutionary (in the broad sense of the term) processes, over a +/- 15 billion years, and then passed down an extremely simplified version of the story, which had the creation happening in 6 days. And/or the story God passed down has gotten very distorted by man, as time has passed.

It seems to me, that the essence of the beginning of this topic, was that God created a young universe with the false appearance of old age.
My counter proposal is that God created an old universe with a false Biblical indication/appearance of young age.
The ultimate question is, why does the YEC viewpoint want the content of the text of the Bible to trump what the evidence of the creation (the universe) itself says?
