You come across as a reformer and rescuer.

I do have a problem with reformers. Wait, aren't you a Protestant?

Oh. Never saw myself as anything except my boyfriend's boyfriend. Our anniversary is coming up soon here, and I totally forgot to reserve a restaurant. Damn, gotta do that today.
I get cranky thinking about his folks. Where the hell is the man-pride in his dad? If I had children and I couldn't provide properly for them, I'd be depressed as hell. That's just half of his situation. His biological father is a millionaire. Owns a moving company. I know, it's something that came straight out of a drama series. His mom fooled around with a rich boy back when and then reality struck. The bio father came to see him once when he was little. Again, where the hell is the man-pride? I would be depressed as hell knowing I got a kid out there that was homeless when he was 15, especially when I'm living in a mansion and have my own moving company. Anyway, I also get cranky when people call me judgmental. They have no idea that when I say what I say, it's literal and not a put down. It's not me exaggerating or calling them names. It's exactly how it is literally. The last time we visited them, his mom, while drunk, asked us which one of us is the woman and which one is the man. Yeah... Edited by yenmor, : No reason given.

Yeah but from the reform in moderation side of the family.
From the "I know the church moves to its calendar but Daddy needs an heir and a spare and times a ticking" side of the protestant reform movement; from the "We need a Bible that doesn't say the Pope is the antichrist" side.Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

If protestants are reformers, what are catholics? Non-reformers? Formers. That is, the ones who formed.

"I know the church moves to its calendar but Daddy needs an heir and a spare and times a ticking" I have no idea what that means.

That is the history of the founding of the CoE, (Church of England). Henry VIII needed an heir. His wife hadn't provided one, just a female child Mary. One of his mistresses was pregnant but a bastard could not inherit the throne so he needed a annulment and marriage before the kid came along. He had petitioned the Pope pointing out that the current wife had been his brothers wife first and so the marriage should never have been sanctioned by the prior Pope in the first place but ecclesiastical annulments move slowly, particularly when the current wife was the aunt of Charles V the Holy Roman Emperor who had already sacked Rome once and taken the Pope prisoner but was now supporting the Pope.

I didn't respond to this in my earlier reply:
Is that you in the avatar?
Well, no, I don't actually look like a squirrel. But it does correctly give my location. You can click on the messaging button near the top right of the screen if you want to discuss that.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Haha, that was a joke. I hope you didn't take offense to it. Between the two of us, I bet I look more like that squirrel than you do... slanted eyes and all...

And at no time did I even hint that I'm "smarter" than them. Yes, you did suggest they were morons for not knowing what you know.
Just exactly how would you describe such a family? Are they relevant here as anything other than an example of someone you feel is your inferior? I sure didn't see any relevance. The premise for this thread shows a lack of the least bit of introspection. The science forums here are a uniquely bad place for Creationists because of the requirement for evidence based arguments. We know before 99 out of 100 debates start that there is zero chance of them presenting any evidence. I mean we do want Creationist to come here, right? I'm not saying you have to take smack off of anyone. But insulting them simply for failing to meet an impossible standard can't be the right thing to do.
That said, it is very easy to get carried away when pretty much everyone around you agrees with you. Yes, and believe it or not, that happens here too. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. I think it is pretty clear that websites that are dominated by creationists brook no posts, or posters, that go against their particular beliefs.
I have been banned from such a site for pointing out the evidence favoring evolution. It doesn't matter how polite or circumspect one is, anything that goes against particular beliefs must be banned! Here is is different. Nobody is banned for their beliefs on this site. They are only banned for flagrant violation of the rules, and creationists have far more leeway in that regard than do other posters.Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.
