As others have said, the thing with Flood topics is they are funny - if for no other reason than the mental gymnastics the literalists end up performing.
The other thing is the Flood is an area where those of us who don't know much about the Bible or ancient history can chip in - it's much harder in (say) Exodus threads.
Personally I've been hoping Ray would open up a Showcase thread on his Great Pyramid claims (height matches circumference of Earth, sits on longest meridian, centre of the world's land masses etc. etc.), but sadly no sign of anything like that yet.
