Re: Mark me down, please
You know, that just got me thinking. Is there anyone on EvC (or used to be, I should say) that you know they have passed away? Anyone ever think about that? How would we know if someone died. To us it would like they just stopped posting, but it could be that some of those members died and we just don't know about. So, anyone know of members that have passed away?
By special dispensation from the Big Guy, deceased Evos can post here from heaven.
Oops, left out the quote

I have arranged it so that if I don't post for more than two months, an automated procedure will take over that starts posting random text. You won't know the difference.
But anyway, you've given us a great new metaphor for dying. For example, did you know that today it's exactly fifty years ago that German dramatist Bertolt Brecht stopped posting in East Berlin at age 58?
Please mark me down as an atheist.

"Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science." - Charles Darwin.
Did you know that most of the time your computer is doing nothing? What if you could make it do something really useful? Like helping scientists understand diseases? Your computer could even be instrumental in finding a cure for HIV/AIDS. Wouldn't that be something? If you agree, then join World Community Grid now and download a simple, free tool that lets you and your computer do your share in helping humanity. After all, you are part of it, so why not take part in it?

Re: Swing Vote
I don't feel like I'm in limbo.
I'm not sure if I do or not. It depends on what is meant by "limbo."
I don't feel like I'm searching for anything, because nothing is missing from my life.
How wonderful. Probably your robust enthusiasm for the wonders of life keeps you from having any unfulfilled needs.
I don't feel any need at all to decide that gods exist or not.
I certainly do. Very important.
Perhaps Agnostics have a much greater tolerance for uncertainy and ambiguity than everyone else.
I have no tolerance whatsoever.
It doesn't bother me in the least that I don't know if the supernatural exists or not.
It bothers me no end.
Edited by robinrohan, : No reason given.
Edited by robinrohan, : changed "needs" to "unfulfilled needs."

Re: New results
Its interesting how finely balanced this appears to be at the moment. I suspect that there might be something inherent in the nature of this poll to produce parity. That is, people are being flushed out of the woodwork to support their team when they fall behind. So in that spirit...
Stick me down as an agnostic - From my limited experience I'm starting to believe that if there is a god or gods then s/he/they are so adept at covering hi/s/er/their tracks that their existence is/are undeterminable. But even this is a tentative position. So that probably makes me a mumbler.

Re: Updated update
Hmmm. I seem to have dropped off the list. Probably as a result of someone protesting the poll's methodology - which I thought was a pretty silly objection to an opt-in, non-scientifically valid poll anyway.
However, you can either put me down as "atheist", or go with your guess concerning Baptist fundamentalist.

Yeah, I have to say that I'm surprised how close the poll really is. Its good. Some people are apparently theists that I would have certainly pegged them as being atheist. I theism is a bit ambiguous because that could encompass many different beliefs, whereas, atheism is pretty straightforward. Not gonna have any denominational rivalry there, aye?

You hit the nail on the head. I didn't want to take you off the list, however, the methodology was placed into question. Now, everyone has to be specifically tell me in their words and in this thread what they want to placed as. But you and Tusko have been added.

Been lurking here at EvC for quite a while, thought I'd go ahead and chime in.
Put me down for agnostic, please.

Breakdown
One thing the list proves is that creos can`t say they are heavily outnumbered at EVC. At least at this point in time.
