Automobile malfunction - Pray for it or take it to a mechanic?
I must wonder if those that believe in cure via prayer rather than well proven medical treatments extend that faith to the care of the family car? Flat tire because of a nail? Pull the nail and pray for the tire.* Clogged fuel filter? Pray. Empty gas tank? Pray.
The same rational could extend to pretty much any of life's needs.

*That said, I did once have a tire heal itself. Prayer was not involved.

Percy, in message 22, writes:
I'm sure we've all heard the joke about the sincere Christian who while watching the water rise around his home during a flood turns down all offers of assistance, each time saying that he puts his trust in God. God is surprised to see him at the Pearly Gates, exclaiming, "What are you doing here? I sent two boats and a helicopter!"
That story was the first thing I thought off when I first saw this topic.
