The thing is, Chris, people have to be taught logic, and even many of the smartest people find it difficult.
Logical thought does not come naturally to humans at all. We are very curious, emotional creatures for which "good enough" reasoning has worked in most cases through most of our evolution.
Make sure you are not using the word "logic" to be synonymous with "reasoning".
Logic has a mathematical basis, whereas human reasoning doesn't have to.
Human reasoning can be, and often is, very, very logically flawed.
