Man has questioned his own existence since the dawn of time. Doesn't it make sense that God has most likely questioned his own existence as well?
Very early in life every person experiences a first moment of self awareness. Later in life everybody questions their own existence and may wonder what their purpose in life is. Would God have experienced the same thing? A moment of self awareness and later question their very existence and purpose for being?
I'm just trying to reconcile how a supreme being could not possibly question their own existence, especially since this entity has ultimate control over creation itself.
Cheers

Re: Has man questioned his own existence since the dawn of time?
Maybe I should have phrased the question a bit differently. Essentially it's a question of how and why, especially from the perspective of a supreme being. Christians believe that man is here on the Earth because God created us and our purpose in life is to spread his word. Does God ever question the same how and why? How did I get here and why am I here? Think of it this way, if you were God and you experienced a first moment of awareness, wouldn't you question your own existence? Why am I here and who gave me the power of creation?

Two things I guess. One, if you are omniscient you don't have any questions and two, if you are eternal there are no first moments.
I'm not so sure about that. Even if you are omniscient, you must still make decisions and making a decision implies that you have asked at least one question. Example, allowing a serial killer to be born even though you know the ultimate impact on the lives of his victims and their families.

Asking questions isn't very useful unless you can propose a way of looking for answers. Humans can hypothesize gods and look for them. Gods could look for "supergods". What would a supreme being look for?
I disagree, anybody can ask questions but they may not be qualified to propose a suitable test for the answer.
