Two to three vs. three to four
It’s generally believed that we three dimensional critters can’t visualize or get an intuitive insight (“wrap our heads around”) a four dimensional world (at least while sober). But the best way to approach an understanding might be to go in the opposite direction and visualize life in a two dimension world. There are several good books that do this, such as The Planiverse: Computer Contact with a Two-Dimensional World by A. K. Dewdney. There is an earlier one, and maybe the best one whose name i remember as Mr. Thompson Visits Flatland or something like that. I can’t find any reference to that so I probably have the name wrong and perhaps someone on this blog has the right reference. By seeing how three dimensional beings view beings living in a two dimensional world, you might gain some insight into how a four dimension being might view things. The next step is to imagine living in a one dimensional world. You would only ever see two other beings, and one of them would be your mother. Social media would be very limited.
