In fact, Darwin was not a scientist.
Not a modern one, as we understand the term as a professional title, no.
But then again, Newton wasn't a scientist, either. Same with Galileo, Copernicus, Linneus, Pasteur, or any of the other people who made discoveries of the natural world using scientific methodology before the occupation of science was professionalized.
quote:
Darwin was not trained in biology or anthropology.
That's because there was no such thing as biology or anthropology degrees back then. He studied at Cambridge and got a classical education, just like everybody else at Cambridge; there were no different "majors" or diverse course offerings from which one chose their path. Everybody did the same thing back then.
quote:
He has a MA in Theology, which he floated through without understanding simple Biblical concepts.
Darwin did not get a MA in Theology. I don't know where you are getting your information, but that bit is completely false. He graduated from Cambridge, like everybody else who completed their studies, with a degeree from Cambridge, but there really weren't "majors".
