It explains how the universe could have the appearnce of being very old and the earth could still be very young. The basic premise is that God created using relativity.
Does this have anything to do with the notion that God created the Universe yesterday at exactly 3:00 pm, including the universe that appears to be billions of years old and all our memories of events before the moment of creation (which again was yesterday at exactly 3 pm)?
By the way, welcome to the board Kosh... I mean Harlequin.

No .. but of course you know that.
Actually, I didn't know that. That book just made it to my summer reading list.

Starlight and time would be a very interesting subject. The premise of the book is that the Earth is roughly near the center of the universe, and in a deep deep gravitational well, so that relativistic time dilation effects means that 10000 years pass on Earth while millions and even billions of years pass by out in the cosmos.
According to Humphreys, where is the extreme gravitational field coming from? Earth's mass is nowhere near the total mass required to create such extreme gravity.

Can't you see that all you are doing is lip service? There isn't any naturalistic explanation for the origins of life. Why is un-scientific to look for an explanation elsewhere?
Discussions on how it all began can be made here.
