"And if you are going to quote revelation about how the earth is flat, save it, because when John said it" So when John said that he was being poetic, but other stuff *must* be true because it is written in the bible? How can we tell the unquestionable truths from the flowery language? To me it sounds like picking the bits that you like and discarding the rest.

'Threw' is the past tense of throw. You might try spelling it THROUGH. P.S. - Perhaps you can compose your messages in a word processing program which underlines spelling errors in red. Or, use the spell checker in your email program. Works for me. db [This message has been edited by doctrbill, 12-14-2003]

Yeh but I know for myself that spellcheckers don't check to see that a correctly spelled word is being being used properly. Threw would have probably gone through I've noticed that many college papers written by some students use the spellchecker but fail to proofread the paper themselves.

True. Perhaps MS Word would catch it as incorrect?

Quite right. If you want something done right, do it yourself. There is no substitute for diligence and attention to detail. db

I keep an old-fashioned, hardbound dictionary at hand. Looking up words in this book is often faster than trying to find them in a software dictionary.

i have learned that if one keeps a browser on a dictionary then, spelling is a bit quicker. A real hardbound dictionary I thought we where going away from paper... i must be ahead of times in Tech just behind the times in english ------------------ I am not god, but working my way there one life at a time.
