Re: The Clowns of Science
I see people laboring under a theory that can't be proved or disproved, and doing good science that gets swallowed up in the theory.
And who is to blame for this state of affairs?
Is TOE really a political movement, an anti-religious movement?
Because science thrives on competition between competing theories. That's how it works. The truth will come out in the competition.
Scientists are as biased as everybody else, but the method is not biased. But you are suggesting that there is a bias here--otherwise, TOE would have been thrown out long ago.

Re: The Clowns of Science
The ToE is not subject to scientific method
You've said this frequently, and I'm not sure how to respond to it. It's off topic here, but it might make a good new topic.
Why don't you introduce it as a new topic?
If you don't want to, I can. I want to see what somebody will reply who knows what they are talking about, since I am not educated in science.

Re: Flood
we learn more from a good example than from a bad one. The literal "vengeful God" story is inferior.
Fear is the most powerful motivator.

Re: Go ahead. Make my day.
Fear is more likely to motivate us to do bad things.
Fear can motivate us to do very bad and very good things. There are many subtle versions of fear.
ABE: Perhaps the most common fear in the world is fear of poverty.
