Aside from the fact that it is far from clear that Jesus was a real person, of course this happened. People did this all the time. Alexander the great was said to be descended from Zeus, does this make Zeus real? Pharaohs in egypt were said to be descended from Osiris. Does this make Osiris real? The list goes on and on.

does that make all of us mythical people?
I never said the DESCENDANTS were mythical. I said the ones they supposedly descended FROM are mythical. Just because someone claims they are descended from someone else does not make that the case, nor does it make the ancestor a real person.

What he means is that the source material for the "Priestly" source of Genesis (as opposed to the Deuteronomy, Elohim and Jehova sources) was of a later date then 848-722BCE.
