You seem to be pulling something out of that verse that isn't necessarily there. Are you inferring that since Levites were made priests to guard the ark because moses only wanted priests guarding it, that this must be the case for the rest of Isreal priesthood?

I was just pointing out that that particular verse does not state what you claim it does.
While a good majority of Israel's high priests are of Aaronic descent, not all are. Menalaus being one of them that is not.

Now you're saying that there was no other priesthood. Ok.

No. What I said was:

That verse alone does not say anything more than at that particular time, in the wilderness of sinai, that tribe of Levi are to report to Aaron to watch over the ark. Don't try and put words in my mouth.

Wouldn't dream of it. You agree that there was no other priesthood, tho'.

Now you are cherrypicking MY comments even though that particular comment you refer to is irrelevant to the OP, and you are taking out of context of what I said.
At any rate, no, I can't say that I "agree that there was no other priesthood, tho'" as I am not a biblical scholar and have not done a thorough research on the history of Israel's priesthood to make such a claim.

Hi Ochaye,
The following is simply factually wrong.
quote: Wrong. The Mormon church was founded, as we all know, by Joseph Smith. He was never a Catholic. His parents, Joseph Sr. and Lucy Smith, were not Catholics. I have no idea why you would want to make such a bizarre statement, but I have to say that it smacks of knee-jerk anti-Catholic sentiment. If you want to take a pop at the Catholic Church, you'll get little argument from me, but it would be better if you stuck to the facts. What happened with Alma in the Book of Mormon is no different than what John the Baptist did. Alma was clearly establishing the Church of God/Christ in preparation for the coming messiah.

You do realize Helaman and Nephi are referring to their own land, and not the middle east... right?
The Bible says that there was darkness for three hours at the time of Jesus' crucifixion: But the Book of Mormon says that this darkness extended for three days:
