Re: inequality etc.
Yet in America, the land of the free where human rights are 'apparently' upheld, many people are fighting the idea that the poor should have health insurance. Is that because of God? No, you know its not. Funny, though, that so many of those "many people" describe themselves as fundamentalist or evangelical Christians....

Yet if you look at the account, we learn that Eve DID know the consequences of eating... Nope. If death had not yet "entered the world," she could not have known what it was.

The account plainly tells us that they did know the consequences of eating from the tree. They knew what would happen. Peg - I repeat: according to your Holy Book, death didn't yet exist when Eve picked the fruit. "You will surely die" would have meant as much to them as "you will surely alkammafrazzit" means to you. now answer rrhain, already. Edited by Coragyps, : No reason given.

You are stating there was no death before the fall. Ah! I reread what Paul wrore about "through man sin entered the world" and it sure enough can be read as only applying to death of man. Apologies.

They should have trusted God rather then take the word of a talking snake. They should have asked why no other animals were talking so why is this snake talking to us. I would always listen to a walking, talking snake over some old guy similar to myself, but with a white beard. Every time. And what bit of Genesis (or of the rest of the Bible) tells you that only the snake spoke? We're told he was subtle, but nowhere are we told that Edenic sloths didn't speak, right? You're adding to the story, Peg! CS has mentioned this, i think.

Re: A case study in "Refusal to Answer the Question"
Dog years are not the same as human years, if you've never heard of 'dog years' then read up. My dog was quite concerned the other day because the price of dog food has gone up to nearly $5.00 a can in dog dollars. How long is a god year, Peg? 365,240 people years? 2,556,680 dog years? A whole bunch of mayfly years? You're being ridiculous.

don't you see that this is why the tree of knowledge was a test of obedience and dependence on Gods soverignty as opposed to a tree that imparted special knowledge? Peg, darlin': It is your Book that tells us the opposite! Why won't you read it?

the fact is that judaism today has changed greatly from what it was when genesis was written But Christianity hasn't changed since Paul?
