True that we got sidetracked. I do not usually ignore moral questions as religions are supposed to be all about morals and Christian and Muslim morals are leading them to homophobia and misogyny and are obviously poor at best.
As to proof that religions are fairy tales, talking snakes and donkeys should be enough to convince anyone with a brain.
"This issue (the relation of Christianity to the modern judicial system) is NOT a primary issue of the Christian faith."
You are correct on this. Christians will always choose secular law and never bible law as they know that bible law is garbage law and draconian at best.
They are Christian but not that stupid.
I can never prove Faith wrong to herself because she lies to herself.
She has not really been addressing my questions. Just repeating herself as she has no real argument.

No.
I am claiming that for love to be real love it takes two.
Your own words say the same thing.
"You will know those you love by what you are willing to do for them. You will know who loves you by what they do for you."
Even a parent of a child born in a vegetative state will love his or her child on the assumption that the child would love them back if it could. Vegetative children cannot love so that love cannot be what I describe as true love nor can it fit what you yourself wrote above.
I know that you are splitting hairs and do not like my wide brush but I don't care as my statement is a true statement.
I love Shania but without knowing me and feeling the same, I would be stupid to call that true love and would cheapen the meaning the way you are doing.

My point is that they are garbage.
As to love, like faith according to St. James, you will know them by their works and deeds so love, like faith, have conditions.
That Shania thing was to make a point. I should have perhaps shown that but have never needed to do so to for people to understand.

I find it strange that here on earth, the religious want to have the greatest freedom possible to deny anyone what they feel they should not have, --- yet instead of a free heaven, --- they say they will be happy living in a God given tyranny that denies all in heaven all freedoms.
Strange how free people want to give up their freedom after death.

Faith
What is better, slavery to Satan or slavery to God?
Remember that God is shown as doing a lot of killing in scriptures, including innocent children and babies, while Satan kills almost none.
-----------------
Faith writes:
that an eye for an eye should be the principle that guides the justice system makes sense to me because it is such a perfect statement of justice....
If that is a perfect statement of justice, and it means that the penalty of punishment should fit the offence, how is it that God ignores it and give the same punishment to a Hitler as he would to an unrepentant liar who is not responsible for any deaths the way Hitler is?
It seems that your perfect God is ignoring what you say is a perfect statement of justice.
Please explain why he ignores perfect justice.

Faith
As usual, you do not deal with what I gave.
You say that Satan brought sin into the world.
That is not what your bible says but that aside.
Who brought Satan and thus sin to the world?

Faith and others who believes in a supernatural creator who creates gays just to be hated and finds gay people icky aren't exactly the deepest thinker.

Re: Origin Of Evil
Phat
You cannot help but sin.
It was God's plan from the beginning to have Adam and Eve eat the forbidden fruit. This can be demonstrated by the fact that the bible says that Jesus "was crucified from the foundations of the Earth," that is to say, God planned to crucify Jesus as atonement for sin before he even created human beings or God damned sin.
1Peter 1:20 0 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.
This indicates that Jesus had no choice.
If God had not intended humans to sin from the beginning, why did he build into the Creation this "solution" for sin? Why create a solution for a problem you do not anticipate?
God knew that the moment he said "don't eat from that tree," the die was cast. The eating was inevitable. Eve was merely following the plan.
This then begs the question.
What kind of God would plan and execute the murder of his own son when there was absolutely no need to?
Only an insane God. That’s who.
The cornerstone of Christianity is human sacrifice, thus showing it‘s immorality.
One of Christianity's highest form of immorality is what they have done to women. They have denied them equality and subjugated them to men.
-----------------
"This whole idea that humans are the only god there ever is....is itself evil...though it doesn't seem to be that way. All I can say is beware."
Phat.
Tsk tsk. Using fear as a weapon is so Christian. Are you still beating your kids with unfounded fear?
Why is man being his own ideal and God evil?
Is it evil that the ideal and God of an ant is an ant?
Is it evil that the ideal and God of a lion is a lion?
Why should man, another animal, be the only animal who seeks a guy in the sky God instead of one of his own?
"it doesn't seem to be that way."
Really. What do you see that is God made and not nature made?
Regards
DL

Did God commit adultery when he cuckolded Joseph?
Did God also break his coveting commandment when coveting Mary?

Calling it blasphemy does not take away the fact that God had to covet Mary or he would not have cuckolded Joseph.
It is not I who hints at bestiality as well but biology. God is one species and humans another. That is bestiality.
If anyone should be condemned it is your God for bestiality and giving us a poor example by becoming a deadbeat dad and abandoning Jesus, eh, himself, sort of.

Re: HRe: Clerk refuses to issue marriage license to gays

Could you help me make a moral and logic based decision.
I have been told by someone that their God is unknowable and unfathomable.
That someone now wants me to buy a large and expensive book where he tells me everything he and his group knows for sure about his unknowable and unfathomable God.
Should I see him as a liar and not buy his book?
Regards
