The topic has nothing to do with meat eating.

The Conservative Christian "understanding" of the Bible has nothing to do with the Bible - which is why you always run away from discussions of the Bible. YOUR understanding of how the Bible defines marriage is absolutely utterly and completely irrelevant. Conservative Christians know it forbids gay marriage and it doesn't matter in the slightest what YOU think about it. The Bible doesn't support your position.

Of course it is. You're not fooling anybody but yourself.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT JUDGING PERSONAL SINS

You're wrong. It's the conservative view that's irrelevant. What IS relevant is the legal rights of all people, including gay people. If equal rights offends your conservative view, then your conservative view is wrong.

Meat is not the issue in those posts. The issue is that Faith cherry-picks which parts of the law to obey.

You're not answering the question. I asked why you're singling it out. It's GAY MARRIAGE that's the problem because of the SCOTUS RULING that requires me to treat it as legitimate which the Bible says I cannot. What's the difference between being "required" to bake a wedding cake and being "required" to serve shellfish if you work at Red Lobster? Or being "required" to sell cotton-polyester blends if you work at Sears? The Bible puts them on the same level as homosexuality. And the Bible says NOTHING about homosexual marriage, only homosexuality itself, so you can stop pretending otherwise.
Faith writes:
This is so difficult for you because your position is so ludicrous.
Why is this so difficult?

But society can't make special provisions for your misunderstanding of the Bible. If you believed that the Bible authorises slavery, our society would still not allow you to own slaves. If you believed that the Bible authorises polygamy, our society would still not allow multiple wives. Your misunderstanding is not a get-out-of-jail-free card.
It doesn't matter that you aren't convinced, it's the reason conservative Christians object to gay marriage and will act on it when pushed to accept it.

Robbing banks is also subject to punishment. The legal basis is important. Even if your religion and/or your conscience requires you to rob the rich to feed the poor, that doesn't supersede the legal basis. The law is in place to protect everybody's property and everybody's rights.
It doesn't matter what the legal basis for punishing the bakery is, the point is refusing to serve a gay wedding is subject to punishment.

There are two kinds of people in the world: bigots who try to control their bigotry and bigots who deny their bigotry.
The UK bakers are not bigots, neither am I, neither are any of those who have been punished for obeying God instead of human law.

For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. What Jesus never did was treat sinners as not sinners.... Jesus treated EVERYBODY as sinners - i.e. He treated everybody equally.

Sinners are sinners. Some "Christian" churches are singling out gays and putting themselves above them.
Gays are sinners, He wouldn't say they aren't, which is essentially what some "Christian" churches are doing. Faith writes:
You are advocating that "Christians" should deliberately break the law when all they would have to do is get a different job. If your eye offends you, pluck it out.
To do anything to appear to treat gay marriage as legitimate....

Not at all. They aren't asking for anything that anybody else isn't entitled to.
Gays are singling themselves out.... Faith writes:
It's not a basic Christian belief. It's a whacko fringe belief.
The Christian businesses have been there for years and along comes this law that contradicts basic Christian belief. Faith writes:
Yes, the same as the slave owners were asked to give up their livelihood.
So your solution is for them to give up their livelihood which has been established for years. Faith writes:
That's what I said. If you think you're aiding and abetting a sinner, stop doing it. Don't compound the offense by breaking the law.
Oh and our eye doesn't offend us because we're in the right. The offensive eye is sin and you among others should pluck it out.

Under the law, they are. YOU are not entitled to deny it to them.
No, they are asking for something THEY aren't entitled to. Faith writes:
That's only your belief, and an empty one at that. You are not entitled to break the law for the sake of a belief - ESPECIALLY when it would be so easy to just give up your slaves.
Marriage was designed for heterosexuals, who are capable of becoming one flesh, as objectively expressed in the conception of children who are the one flesh composed of their parents' flesh. Faith writes:
ALL have sinned.
You are the one in sin. Pluck out your eye already.
