I agree it's difficult to get some analog tapes converted to decent-sounding .wav files. Ironically it all makes more sense since you've explained it. I just thought it was kinda funny since us readers often have difficulty with your posts.
Incidentally, many of your more recent posts are easier to understand. It's apparent that you've been working on it and I for one appreciate it. Keep America Safe AND Free!

That's much clearer, Brad. Is that you talking?

Brad, I can't remember who it was who asked about a recording of your voice, but the point was to find out if you make more sense talking than you do writing. Anyone who listens to your latest tape is bound to conclude that you do. One would never guess that you have any communication difficulties whatsoever from hearing that tape. You make perfect sense.
The suggestion, as I recall it, was that if you make perfect sense when speaking, then perhaps the next time you wish to explain a complicated concept, especially if it has anything to do with anyone like Kant or Gladyshev, that you record what you want to say on a tape recorder, then play it back and type precisely what you said. Maybe you could try it? Keep America Safe AND Free!

Brad writes me:
quote: In a thread about mathematics? But I hate mathematics. The only reason I clicked on that thread at all was because I saw your name on it. Had someone else responded your name would have been gone and I'd probably have never noticed that post. In the other thread, you said:
quote: What I'm most interested in hearing you discuss on tape is your view on creationism and evolution. I've read a number of your posts on those topics but I still don't have a clear idea of where you stand. Keep America Safe AND Free!

This one doesn't sound as good, Brad. I think you let the green audio clip too far into the red. I can only make out a few words, not enough to understand anything.

Tranquility Base did it best in the Brad McFall thread from a couple years ago. Start at post 20 and read through 23. Then jump to post 29 and read through post 33.
Priceless! Keep America Safe AND Free!

I think I'm following you fairly well, Brad. Your writing is much better than it used to be. From your quote:
Lauden criticizes Overton's claims about the nature of science, arguing that although creationism should be rejected, such rejection should be on the basis of its being bad science rather than nonscience. I don't understand the distinction. Creation "science" doesn't follow the scientific method. It isn't science, so I would lean toward calling it nonscience. Nothing wrong with creationism, mind you, I just prefer to think of it as religion and not science. If creationism were not being promoted as though it were science there probably would be no need for this message board.
quote: Loc-Nar!!! You're kidding me! Heavy Metal is one of your favorite movies? God I haven't seen that picture in years. I remember Loc-Nar, though. Some of the sequences were quite good, and I can see why the film would appeal to someone who seems to love philosophy as much as you apparently do. EDITED to add subtitle. Wow, Brad, I was so excited about the previous paragraph that I forgot about this one:

Brad writes:
quote: Brad, if you can find a way to reduce those to a fairly short paragraph or two you'll be doing yourself and everyone else a favor. You are much easier to understand when you condense something into a few words.
quote: Haven't seen Finding Nemo, but since you mention it perhaps I should check it out.
quote: I opened and read it. Interesting in that it criticizes some aspects of ID from a creo perspective, but I'm not sure why you wanted me to read it. Keep America Safe AND Free!

Arkansas Banana Boy writes me:
quote: It had me in stitches the first time I read through it. TB was funny, but Brad's sense of humor came through loud and clear as well. He has an incredibly dry wit that no doubt usually goes right over our heads. When it's accessible it's wonderful. Keep America Safe AND Free!

quote: So do I, very much. I know he must get frustrated trying to tell us things we can't understand. I just hope he never gets so frustrated that he quits posting. That would be a loss for us.
quote: From my perspective he's become somewhat easier to understand recently. It sometimes requires more than one reading to get his point, but if the post is relatively short a second read-through can be rewarding. Another thing that can help is to google the names that he drops. Keep America Safe AND Free!

Brad and I have drifted off-topic in the cloning thread, so I'm going to respond to his latest post to me here instead of there.
quote: I never once doubted that you were educated, Brad. But I still think ID is more properly classified as philosophy rather than science. That in no way lessens the importance of the ideas behind ID, at least as I see it. Philosophy can be just as important as science but in a different way and for different reasons.
quote: You've been removed from culture because of your ideas regarding ID and science? That sounds terrible but if the only reason for doing such a thing to you was your ideas regarding ID and science then someone somewhere has done much worse than make a "mistake", they've done you a horrible injustice. I may think you're wrong but I certainly don't think you should be removed from society. Not only is it an injustice to you but it's a loss for society.
quote: I agree. Keep America Safe AND Free!
