Shaddai
I have not yet seen anyone post about the Hebrew noun form that uses a patach-aleph at the end of the lamed-hey or lamed-yood word root.
For example, p-n-h, to turn, to clear away, becomes "panai" -- free time, leisure.
g-b-h -- to administer funds, becomes "gabbai" the treasurer (of a synagoguge, thought this meaning is now defunct)
t'nai -- conditition, stiptulation.
So: if the word root is sh-d-h, having the dual sense of mountain or breast, El-Shaddai (with the aleph dropped) could have the noun "El" functioning adjectivally, and Shaddai meaning simply "the one of the mountain/breast" producing, "Divine One of Mountain/breast" -- an ancient name of a god, appropriating by the Israelites to be one of the names of YHVH.
