Re: uh, yeah
Disprove the Bible. Tell us the useless, insignificant "stories" please.
Start with one.

The earth is flat.

Re: Actually, what I said was....

if the Bible was just stories told around the campfire, would the message of Jesus be any less important?
I did NOT say "The Bible is just stories told around the campfire" (although much of it is).
The message of Jesus is reinforced by much of the stories in the Bible, and furthermore, what about the parables told by Jesus, each having "his message" in them?
quote:
What is it with you fundies that you cannot read and you immediately want to call anyone with an opposing view, "dishonest"?
Fundies cannot read, nice, anything else?
Insults usually don't work well with debating. Offending the people you talk with usually doesn't accomplish much of anything... (remember kendymer?) Don't tell me you forgot already.
quote:
Can you not defend the message of Jesus without the Bible? Have you so little faith that you believe in the Bible instead of GOD?
This is ignorance, Have you not noticed that who you call "fundies" (nice) believe the Bible is inspired by GOD? A tool, to know God, the Bible reading in this day and age is an amazing thing.

The earth is flat.

Re: Actually, what I said was....
Dishonesty is a trait. Not an insult.
You seem to be misguided, realize the difference in parables and what you call "stories" of the Bible.
Ignorance is something needed to be told, otherwise you would have never known. See the logic?
"trait of the breed"
Hypocritical? (another needed realization)

"Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."
Ephesians 5:14

or calling them ignorant?
I think it must be a trait of the breed.
Also, don't avoid it, not worth it.

Re: Actually, what I said was....

So no answer for the question I asked?
Does it matter if the events related in the parables actually happened or were simply stories told to illustrate a point?
Again, you are wrong is asking this question, parables told by Jesus are truly different then what you are deeming "stories" of the Bible.
BTW Address this
No (for the question)
But, you are thinking that if I will admit to the parables not happening, then of course I will see the logic, and understand that what you are calling "stories" of the Bible also did not happen, but were put in the Bible to maybe illustrate a point, Jar You did not address this in post 125, maybe I can count on you for the next reply...

Charles Knight
Charles Knight, will you please follow through with the promise?
(Disproving the Bible's campfire stories.)
Or wait did you mean (Proving the stories are fiction?)
Yeah that's what you meant, respond AsAp.

"Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."
Ephesians 5:14

Okay.
Thank you.

Try again because I don't have a clue what you are asking.
The Okay above addresses what I was asking.
The quoted paragraph you addressed with "try agai..." was elaborating on my position, that you replied with the Okay.
If this isn't enough, just post one.

"Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

Hm, so you are assuming that I was implying that he doesn't have a life outside of EVC?
Incorrect.
I was merely trying to get a response AsAp, is that not what most yearn for when in the forums?
Looks like an unneeded reply Lam.

Em.. what lam said. You do realise that for some of us that a) we are on another timezone or three b) we actually run our own businesses/are doing Phds/have a job and c) we come and go as we please.
Don't be offended, my reply wasn't meant to be what you and lam are assuming it was, "You should be on all day", unreasonable.

Disprove the bible ? Easy - how did noah breath during the flood.
Hm, you have a strange way of putting words in my mouth, I was under the impression that you said you can tell us the "stories" in the Bible with no truth or helpful message.
I guess you are under the impression that disproving a section in the Bible is disproving the whole thing, although this is not what I intended to be talking about with you, I'm game.
How did noah breath during the Flood?
This question presupposes that Mount Everest was the height it is now (8,848 m = 29.028 feet), and that the air pressure would not have changed at that height above normal sea level with the addition of the flood water.

I'm just amazed jar and some other people have the patience to deal with you. I've been reading your posts and, to my standard, they are immature.
I'd always thought of you as a girl... I don't have a clue where I got that thought from. The funny thing is I'm dead serious too. Must be your avatar that caused me to think that way. Here is an image similar to what I thought you looked like:
