Have you asked Satan about that? Seems to me you're relying on hearsay, at best, to determine the possible intent of this evil being.
Anyhow, do you figure Satan has bothered to read Revelations? It seems rather clear from those that he's gonna get his butt kicked pretty good. Yet he must think he's got some sort of chance, yet if he is an angel, it seems like he would know a lot better just how freaking omnipotent and omniscient God is, so why would he bother?
Or is it possible that Satan exists as a post hoc rationalization of why we think there is evil in this world?
