Re: Rationality and "Fervent" Christians (or "Christian, heal thyself!")
quote:
I don't believe there's any intellectual deficit in the Bible belt or anywhere else creationists happen to spring from. People who happen to be creationists run schools and colleges and businesses, are managers, accountants and lawyers, and I'm sure they all think pretty well and that they would all easily recognize the obvious deficiencies in Origen's approach. Where are they and why aren't they doing something about their idiots posting idiocy?
But according to a recent Harris Poll...
In general, older adults (those 55 years of age and older), adults without a college degree, Republicans, conservatives, and Southerners are more likely to embrace the creationism positions in the questions asked.
So, non-college educated people who live in a part of the country known for less-than-great public schools as well as strong Fundamentalist Christian religious influence tend to be Creationists.
Lack of education seems to be a factor.

So, AdminPhat?
Can you please explain in a bit more detail why you closed the castor oil pack thread?
I don't quite understand why your apparent "respect" for "poor purpledawn" should result in you closing the thread.
Why should her arguments be protected from criticism through the closure of the thread just because she doesn't like them being criticized?

Yet, we don't hear the evos admitting that "everyone says" that the site is too biased to generate real discussion, and that any critic of evolution that makes an effective argument is either hounded or shouted off the site, and if too rude to graciously leave and responds to such obtuseness of evos, then he or she will eventually be banned.
I have joined several creationist-run discussion sites and have been very careful to be polite and respectful and I have been permenantly banned from all of them. Within weeks.
I was even invited to join a discussion board consisting entirely of people who were banned from one particular Creationist-run debate site!
You have it so good here, randman. You have your own little corner of the internet where you are allowed to be lord and master even though you really should be permenently banned because you consistently break the forum guidelines. And yet, you whine and complain.
Tell me, what Creationist-run website provides such a forum for their previously-banned Evolutionist members?

Re: What would you have us do?

Most mentally ill persons do not consider themselves as such. Case in point: Darwinists believe the appearance of design corresponds to mindless process; inhabitants of nature descend from a common ancestor, and that apes gradually morphed into men; and they think these miracles are rational and reflect scientific investigation.
Wow.
Hundreds of thousands of scientists are all mentally ill.
I guess that we all better stop going to the doctor, then, coz all the scientists who've been doing medical research for the last 150 years are crazy.
