Against creationism in general? no.
Against biblical creationism? Loads.

i found it by asking : what is the truth?
But what do you do with people who refuse to do this?
The problem with your advice is that this moron keeps making the same arguments over and over again. He can't even define evolution yet he calls it false.
How do you deal with folks like that?

i like Percy. i wouldn't consider him a staunch atheist, I'd say he is a patient man, requiring data for conclusion. more or less he'd prob say : "i don't know." if I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. but that is what i believe from his posts.
I was talking about another site I frequent, tesla, not this one. Obviously, this site's stated purpose is the EvC debate.

just like i said you cannot argue with a stone. make your point, then leave them to their argument.
for instance: creationist A Say's evolution is false.
you say: all observation Say's it is, if God is, and things have changed and "evolved" then is it not evolution? and if it is, and does not prove God is or is not, but is an observation of reality, then it is not false but true. and if God is true, then evolution is by his design. and evolutionists scrutinize the truth of how it works to understand and grow the knowledge of the human race and the planet we rule for its better or for its worse. by understanding evolution, and DNA, we can potentially destroy disease by understanding how to progress evolution of man by conditions that would cause an evolutionary reaction.
and creationist A replies: there is no evolution. all you said is false.
then say: as you say it then, let that be for you.
and what else can you say?

keep your mind from this way of enquiry, for never will you show that not-being is

I don't know. I've tried arguments where they have to defend how creationism is true and those all fail. these two morons seem impervious to logic, reason and facts. And I get the feeling neither of them graduated from high school.

Like, watch TV or something.

Mmm, is that why you removed the mania from your username after arriving here?

Who are considered morons? That sometimes depends on who's posting and idiology. There have been, and likely still are, members here who consider Buzsaw's ideology to be moronic, all the while unable to substantially refute Buzsaw hypotheses which show up in the debates.
I find myself in debates with folks here who are equally frustrating. For example having minimal knowledge of scriptural texts they quote mine scriptures from Google or something thinking they've refuted prophecies and other Biblical doctrines which I've given 60 years to intensive daily comprehensive corroborative study in the scriptures.
What do I do about that? I keep repeating substantial arguments. After a spell I ignore.
We all think we have the truth. We all debate and discuss. May the truth prevail in the end, regardless of who's ox is gored.

Re: Who Are Morons?
Or in my case Buz, you refuse to debate Bible prophecy because I keep on refuting you. Because I actually read the Bible and therefore know it better than you - for all your boasts about this study you've done.
Here's a hint to everyone - never rely on what Buz says about the Bible. He's often wrong. You'd do much better to read it yourself. As I do.
And this is the real problem - creationits substitute ego for knowledge. Their self-worship does not admit to a need for real study, instead they consider their biases and prejudices more reliable than reason and knowledge. And then they get upset when the facts refuse to agree with them.

Re: Convincing arguments
I think what we have here is a definitional problem. What Obvious Child seems to mean by 'a convincing argument' is, "and argument that would convince a reasonable person". What LucyTheApe seems to mean is " An argument that must convince everybody".
Its like the difference between scientific fact and the common conception of a fact as a form of absolute incontrovertible truth.
It seems doubtful to me that there are any 'convincing' arguments for anything of the standard that LucyTheApe desires.

How do you guys who visit other forums deal with particularly stupid, ignorant but stubborn creationists?
I belong to a forum with a variety of topics for discussion. I found my way to the creation vs. evolution discussion and discovered that it was dominated by creationists who were reinforcing each other's scientific inaccuracies, and refusing to listen to any visiting evolutionist -- who quickly realised they were wasting their time, and left. I stayed a little longer because I had time on my hands and wanted to correct the scientific inaccuracies for the record. That's why I originally came here -- I was cribbing info.
We just chase each other around in circles though. I think it's a matter of what people are open to; and if they are not open to what you are saying, then it doesn't matter whether it's true or false, they won't listen. Typical strategies there are regurgiposting PRATTs, refusal to engage with facts, plagiarising from creo websites, and endlessly repeating strawman arguments such as, "evolutionists believe rocks turn into humans." The list owner also likes to post threads on creo topics, e.g. "news" from Hovind's website (currently being run by his son), and then locking them so that no one can be an irritation by refuting them.
It's become a bit of amusement for me, since I think we're just essentially butting heads and not really getting anywhere. RAZD has been visitng though and blinding them with science. They can't deal LOL, so they more or less dismiss it as "all lies" and insult him. My favourite so far is that he and I are "trying to look smart."
