Let's set aside for the moment that you have zero understanding of how DNA functions, and explore the ramifications of your position.
We'll pretend that you're correct, that DNA doesn't have "enough room" for the "information" it takes to grow a human being. What are you suggesting, that some creator steps in for each and every human being and tinkers with the process, filling in missing information? If so, wouldn't the presence of birth defects suggest that this creator is rather incompetent? In fact, just the fact that he needs to tinker with the process every single time shows he's not very good with big picture stuff. What about the fact that somewhere between 25-50% of all pregnancies spontaneously abort? This creator of yours is running a real cluster fuck. It was probably the similarity in avatars that confused him.
What did you think of our new park?

You confused the Red Sox with the Minnesota Twins? This will probably mean war. I'll leave it up to you. Nah. It's not like he confused us with the Yankees. I'm not as fond of the Bostons as I used to be, but I won' t take offense. Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. (Ok this is a bit off-topic . I hope Jpatterson will come back to his own thread to continue the discussion) I wouldn't count on it, boss. It feels like a hit and run to me. But I suppose we ought to give him a fair opportunity to try to defend himself before we bury this too deep. Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. You are set with the task of specifying, at a molecular level, every last detail of the anatomy, physiology and innate behavior of a human being. What makes you think that DNA must do that? If your premise is false, there's nothing for us to respond to. Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. If I found a fully functioning 2010 latest design Top of the range Laptop Computer with 200,000 fully operational advanced software programs it would be reasonable to assume that the Laptop and software had been designed. Now as we all know, biological information systems are staggeringly MORE complex than a modern Laptop computer. Therefore, if it's logical to state that the Laptop was obviously designed then it is many orders of magnitude more likely that the DNA information coding system is also designed. Only if you completely ignore that one is made of biological components that self replicate imperfectly and have been doing so on this planet for billions of years. But yeah, other than that they're pretty much the same. Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. In other words, "nuh uh!"

Perhaps he was a young earther, but, like all men of science, was interested in the evidence and so read Lyell to see what evidence he had.
You must remember, most scientists of 1700s and early 1800s believed in some form of creationism. The sciences of geology were still in their infancy. It was the discoveries of these men that convinced the scientific community that the evidence doesn't support creationism. He applied uniformitarian interpretations to geological formation he saw, giving dates much higher then 6k years No. He concluded that the evidence showed largely uniformitarian processes and concluded on the basis of the evidence that the age was much higher than 6,000 years. Yes, you're absolutely correct. The brand of creationism practiced pre-Darwin bears no resemblance to creationism of today.
