Oops, an oversight. I'm going to suggest that the time limit for responding be 1 week, and that there shouldn't be any problem if someone asks for an extension. The moderators will have to make a judgement call if someone is requesting too many extensions. Naturally disappearing without notice is automatic loss of debate. Not hearing from a debater for a couple weeks would probably qualify.

I'll wait till tomorrow in case there are any suggestions about time limits, then I'll edit the opening post of the debate thread to add the rules about time limits.
