Re: Branford Marsalis...best sax player ever
I would definitely recommend catching that show. I am guessing it will probably be his quartet?
More abstract definitely. Here is his rendition of "It Don't Mean A Thing...". It might give you a little more insight than I can. I am more a lover music that doesn't know too much about any one genre, I just know what I like, in fact it would be easier for me to make a list of my dislikes.
Let me know how it was if you decide to go. If you didn't know it Branford is from a Jazz family
Ellis Marsalis, pianist (father)
Branford Marsalis, saxophonist
Wynton Marsalis, trumpet player
Delfeayo Marsalis, trombone player and producer
Jason Marsalis, drummer and percussionist

Re: Guitar Talent
Here are a few guitar players outside of the rock genre that may have a bit of talent.
More than a bit I would venture.
When I started this I thought it would be cool to see what others enjoyed. EvC has such a diverse membership from around the world, and from many different walks of life, because of this I have had the pleasure of being introduced to music I may have never listened to otherwise.
Thank you all.

I am not much of a Moby fan but I do like "Extreme Ways".
I am a fan of Robert Ludlum. The Bourne trilogy is one of my favorites. The film version is nothing like the books though, I have enjoyed both nonetheless.

Re: Post-Napster fags
This thread is about the music, nothing else . If you want to debate copyright BS then do it in another thread/topic.

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'
