And so we sit, waiting for Emily to arrive. About all possible preparations have been done, now it's just nail biting time.

Just about 50 miles inland of Brownsville in Mission, TX. First rain bands are starting to sweep in right now. The next 24 hours will be interesting.

Yup. My house in Georgia was a 8 feet above sea level. I got nose bleed when I moved here. I'm a whopping 128 feet above sea level here.

If you look at the radar image you'll see the first inland county. That's Hidalgo. I live about a mile or so north of the Rio Grande in Hidalgo county.

Yeah. It's stalled right off shore to rebuild strength. Remember that crossing Yucatan is about like crosing Florida, not a great hurdle.

Right now they're calling for a Cat 4 by landfall. Not what I wanted to hear.
