Re: Re;Old School
Not listened to Juno Reactor for some time, but I used to be into that sort of music quite a lot. Seemed like everyone that was into hallucinogenic drugs were into Juno Reactor and other related bands. I still listen to Shpongle a lot, especially now they've gotten more techy.

I'm into most music. I've got a passion for jazz, as you might discern from my screen name (from Joe Zawinul, keyboardist of Weather Report). I'm also into electronic / dance music, and make my own quite a lot.
Despite my atheist stance, my favourite band is Take 6, an acapella group who sing songs that are so Christian that even Jesus might get fed up of it after a while. But they're brilliant.

I noticed some time ago that scientific and technical people are often keen musicians.
I've noticed this as well (Brian May the guitarist from Queen for example has a phd in astronomy from the prestigious Imperial College of London). I think there’s something about well-made precise music that appeals to the meticulous nature of scientists and engineers. Lots of my humanities buddies on the other hand tend to be into weird dissonant punk rock that can only be appreciated if you know the philosophy behind it.

Show me a live band that can automatically generate an arpeggio loop.
