I hoped you were going to define the kind of information that doesn't increase due to mutations and other genetic changes.

That is, indeed, the question. Many Creationists (e.g. Lee Spetner) claim that information cannot be increased by evolutionary mechanisms, and invoke their own version of information theory to "back up" the claim ... but there are severe flaws in all their claims.The kind of information DNAUnion is considering is increased by gene duplication followed by a mutation in one of the genes, so it can't be the kind that never increases by evolutionary mechanisms.
