There's not really a notion of "generations" in bacteria...
So we don't really talk about "generations" of bacteria, we talk about how long it takes for a population to double in size.
The term "generations" is used in reference to bacteria, such as at the
Bacteria make major two step evolutionary nutritional shift in the lab topic. I only lightly skimmed a bit of that topic, but I didn't see any "generation" definition.
Would the population doubling period be what is called a generation?
