No, one method of checking for potential bias is to see who gets in the media. That is, does the media go for those on the right more than the left? The other way around? A balanced take?
Well, that has been done and, as expected, the media shows a significant right-side bias. The Sunday morning policy shows, for example, are much more likely to have conservatives on than liberals. When conservatives are brought on, they are much more likely to be the only guest in a dialogue with the host. Liberals (and they are very rare on these programs) are usually put on a panel...and on top of that, there will be more conservatives on the panel.
The most common guest? McCain.
During the health care debates, not a single guest was offered a position on any policy programming that was a supporter of single-payer, despite that being what the majority of the population wanted.
