Right now, you don't have any law holding you to God. The 10 C are for his people ultimately. In the case of have no other God's before me obvioulsly means other religions but also means loving your Car more then God, video games more then God etc. etc.
However, in everyones case before God, the law applies to you and me because we are all guilty of transgressing God; however, you are free to make your decision against it. I was just saying you donn't like that law because you don't love God.
At the end of the Day, the law is there. The reson why there is a new covenant (new testament) is because God knew nobody could be sinless, everyone breaks the law, even the ones who try not to. Man cannot come to God and please him on his own. This is the whole reason for the merit of Jesus.
