The problem identified?
Interesting to see people chasing their tails! The problem with the age of the earth is that time is a manmade idea. A 'day' on earth is much different than a 'day' on another planet. A year on earth is much different than a year on Pluto. Show me where it says in the Bible that a day for God is based on the rotation of the earth!
Scientists develop theories based on the available knowledge, thus the 'center of the universe', 'the flat earth', etc. were accepted truths that those who didn't accept were considered bad, even to the point of putting them to death. The 'continental plate theory' is not very old and was considered ridiculous... until the drift has been solidified by further knowledge.
As for the animals in South America that weren't there 'because no bones have been found'. There have been ceramic toys found that are obviously made to look like those animals that "weren't there". They found about 25 years or so ago some underwater 'streets' along the coast of South America that the 'scientists' couldn't explain... some suggested Atlantis, but most didn't have a clue. However, if one reads the Book of Mormon, one can read about cities along the coast sinking into the sea during a major earthquake.
To sum this up a bit, knowledge isn't complete and I don't know that we'll ever know completely... some may remember that the US Patent office was considered obsolete in the late 1800's because "everything had been invented".
For someone to be considered insane because they don't follow the accepted path leaves a lot of room for abuse and error.

http://www.the-book-of-mormon.com/photo-proofs.html
This tells about many of the things that people 'knew' were wrong but are shown to be correct with added information.
http://www.satellitediscoveries.com/...s/bahamas/baha_4.html
What I was talking about I'd seen on TV, but this site shows some of the many underwater areas that can't be explained by the 'present knowledge'. While looking for this I've come upon sites all over the world that show: Many underwater cities, some a half mile down; Several sites that have all the indications of ancient atomic blasts; Evidence from many places that there were giant 'humans' as stated in the Bible; The statement that evidence of evolution of humans can fit into one small coffin!
The concept that those who believe the Bible or who believe something that isn't scientifically acceptable today are insane is in itself rather a form of insanity. The only things that are real are those we know? Reminds me of the three blind men standing at different parts of an elephant, 'knowing' that they know what an elephant looks like while touching it's tail, leg and trunk respectively. Each is right, as for the information they have, but they are collectively wrong because of lack of complete information.
People thought driving a car faster than a mile a minute would be deadly... People knew that flying faster than the speed of sound would be impossible...
We're still trying to understand the human mind and it's still more an 'art' than a 'science', assuming that 'science' has all the answers! I've had many personal experiences that were way beyond the accepted limits of the mind, let alone my mind! I guess I'm therefore insane according to what I'm reading here.

Re: The problem identified?
Are you trying to say that when some psychologist makes a diagnosis that all other psychologists would make the same diagnosis?

Re: The problem identified?
That's not what I said. Read my question and read the statement that it questioned.
People tend to think that they have the answer and ignore the reality that they only know part of the answer. 2 is part of the answer to 7 X 3= , but it's only close to the answer and pretending it is right doesn't make it right.
The concept of 2+2=4 will always be correct. Psychologist's opinions won't.
