And I suppose that they wouldn't mind it if alchemy and astrology were also taught as "alternatives" to chemistry and astonomy as well. What would they be afraid of. Afterall it would only be "fair". They don't seem to realize that science is not about being "fair", it is about the facts. There are no credible, verifible, nor unbiased facts in favor of creationism. It is religion and has no basis in reality. Unlike legitimate science pseudo-science (creationism) will continue to try to make the facts fit the "theory" even after it has been shown to be false. With legitimate science if the facts don't fit the theory is scrapped. But than again creationists don't really need facts since they have faith instead.
I know that American science education is mainly a joke, but this will make it a total laughing stock. If you want to teach creationism teach it were it belongs, in Sunday school where it can be safely ignored. You wouldn't want someone to start teaching math during Sunday mass, would you now?
P.S.
If they do get this imposed then they will have to teach ALL creation myths. There are now around 150 or so different creation myths in the world, including the two accounts from Christianity. It would only be "fair". What do they have to fear?
Something interesting. It seems that it is mainly just Americans who have a "problem" with Evolution. Even the Church in Rome has accepted it as a fact and we know how difficult it is to get them to addmit it when they are wrong. It took them over 400 years just to pardon Galileo.
