Did St. Paul's teach episcopalianism? If not, in what way was their role distinct from non-episcopalian, non-private schools?

episcopalianism????????
Did St. Paul's teach episcopalianism?
LOL
We'll, that's a tough one. If "episcopalianism" means that you don't have to check your brain at the door, that you are responsible for your actions, that other folk may well have opinions different than yours and you just might learn from them, that there's always more to learn, then I guess so.

Agreed. Atheist and agnostic beliefs should also be taught.

Not in my experience. It's always been the atheists that get upset for me.

And what is your experience of teaching religious education?

Speaking as an atheist, I really don't mind if my children are taught the various dominant religions in the world. What I do have a problem with is that it is almost impossible to have an unbiased teacher who is doing the teaching.
For example, my 6th grade teacher kept implying that everything was a miracle when we were learning biology.
Therefore, I really believe that religious views should be presented as part of literature or philosophy and that teachers give equal time for all the religions that are suppose to be presented.
This is why, I suspect, some atheists get upset when religion is taught. They almost always get a biased view even though the teacher claims to be unbiased.

Re: Atheists are more tolerable than any other group!
It's my experience of being taught. It's always been the atheists who have told the teacher that someone was reading a Bible, or they caught someone saying grace at lunch, or praying over their math test.
I have done all of those things at school, just to myself, and it's always been the atheists that complain.

Re: Atheists are more tolerable than any other group!
But it is impossible to be unbiased. Nobody on Earth is unbiased. Speaking from the other hand, I have had teacher's who I'm sure believed in the evolution we were learning about, and that they thought anyone who doesn't believe evolution was an idiot. However, I do understand where you're coming from, however, I don't think atheists are the only victims of it.

Re: Atheists are more tolerable than any other group!
Hi,
Well these things you highlight are nothing to do with teaching religious education, which was what I was on about.
So you dont have any direct exprience of atheists complaining about religious education being taught in schools?
Brian.

Retraining?
Hey Charles,
Have you ever considered retraining as an RME teacher, I think you would be an excellent recruit!

Heh... I did my time in the trench as both a R.E. teacher and in my own subject.
