Suffering? and then a religion...
If you are a "live your life"'r like me there really is no absolute suffering. I'm happy being alive. Any experience I digest, good or bad, is ultimately good simply because I exist to experience it. Now don't get me wrong, I like some experiences more than others. A good roll in the hay is always preferable to a sharp stick in the eye. But, the fact that I'm here to get poked in the eye means I'm still here to poke others while in the hay.

Which religion?
Seeing as there are an almost infinite number of possible gods, anything I adhere to has an equal chance of being correct. (If a god actually exists, that is) So I would at first believe in a God that doesn't expect me to believe in him. Then I'd follow his lead and continue being an atheist.
