What, getting driven out of their nation, and then coming back to it? In 2000 years, that's happened at least once to most nations that are still around. Can you name them for us?
You know, you should learn better than to take ancient, poorly translated, multiply transcribed, words taken from oral traditions of a nomadic desert shepherd tribe at face value. Hmmmm. Hit harder, . I mean the bible's been around a long time. I'm not going to deconvert off of this statement. Ofcourse Dan is forgetting what Christ said about not returning untill they say blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Now since the jewish are not really Christ believing when does Dan think they said 'Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord'. Can you guys tell me when the whole of Israel was Messianic?

You're right, I did forget that. Well, there's one more thing that didn't happen before that generation passed.

You're right, I did forget that. Well, there's one more thing that didn't happen before that generation passed. Or, the time has simply not come yet, and scoffers have already been mentioned.

Assyria under Tiglath-pileser III; numerous areas under Roman conquest (many Germanic tribes were driven out (and many captured/enslaved), only to return centuries later, for example); England with the Irish in the mid 1600s (although not too much enslavement, really - just lots of killing); non-Serbians from Serbia around the turn of the 19th century (again, not too much on the enslavement). Nebuchadnezzar with numerous middle eastern peoples (both driving out and enslaving). Genghis Khan with the Han and Manchu from a number of indigenous regions. In every case, the people returned once the empire (or the ones that succeeded it) left. ... how many do you want? Any specific regions you'd be interested in? I don't see how that's possible. That generation is long gone. The deadline was up a very long time ago. Even on the offchance it still happens, it won't be as prophecized. [This message has been edited by Dan Carroll, 11-20-2003]

Are you even reading the responses to what you write? It doesn't matter what he predicted, because he predicted it would all happen within a single generation. It didn't happen. Prophecy failed. The fact that he said people wouldn't believe him doesn't mean he can't be wrong. And predicting that people won't believe you would make everyone who's ever lived a prophet.
