Given that the version of Christianity you espose is a tiny (and relatively modern) branch of Christianity as a whole, I see no reason to believe that Newton ever followed it. Do you really think Newton spent hours fussing over biblical contradictions? I rather suspect he occupied his time with more mundane pursuits such as inventing the catflap.
